The curriculum at Somerset Academy is crafted around general monthly themes, coordinated across the center to foster developmental skills and awareness in our young learners. We utilize a research-based preschool curriculum that instills a love for learning through sensory-based experiences. This curriculum aligns with Pennsylvania and Common Core standards, as well as NAEYC and Head Start indicators, ensuring a well-rounded educational foundation.
Central to our approach are the Learning Centers, integral components of our program. These centers are dynamic, changing regularly to reflect the themes and goals of each month. Here, children engage in activities that promote individual and independent learning. The activities within these centers are designed to inspire creativity, investigation, problem-solving, and critical thinking, while also fostering positive self-esteem and competence.
